Ethylene tetrafluoroethylene copolymer (ETFE). Referred to as lining F40)

The ethylene tetrafluoroethylene copolymer (ETFE) or lining F40 is called ETFE or lining F40. Since the advent of polytetrafluoroethylene, laboratories all over the world have done a lot of research work in order to improve its poor physical and processing properties. Since 1970s, DuPont of the United States and Asahi Nippon of Japan have developed a series of ethylene tetrafluoroethylene copolymer resins with the brands of tefzel and cop Products. ETFE is a kind of strong and tough fluoroplastics. While maintaining the good heat resistance, chemical resistance and electrical insulation properties of polytetrafluoroethylene, its radiation resistance and mechanical properties have been greatly improved. The tensile strength of ETFE can reach 50 MPa, which is nearly twice that of polytetrafluoroethylene. What's more, its processability has been greatly improved, especially its adhesion with metal surface is outstanding, which makes the tight lining process of fluoroplastics and steel well realized, that is, the production process of F40 rotary lining of fluoroplastics.

It is not only used in aerospace machinery, chemical industry and chemical industry, but also has good resistance to chemical and thermal shock. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is an excellent substrate material for printed circuit board because of its excellent electrical insulation and low dielectric constant. In addition, the copper clad laminates made of PTFE impregnated glass cloth and polytetrafluoroethylene copper clad laminates have high heat resistance, stable insulation and small loss factor in the high frequency range, which are widely used in satellite launch frequency converter, high frequency radio communication equipment, mobile communication equipment, etc. At present, more than 50 plastic parts are used in a car, and more than 20 places use fluoroplastics. In the field of automobile, people have been using rubber oil seal, but the leakage is serious. Filling polytetrafluoroethylene oil seal instead of lip rubber frame oil seal has successfully solved the problems of engine water leakage and oil leakage, and greatly improved the technical performance of engine and even automobile. In recent years, the use of ETFE as a substitute for other large-scale building lighting materials, such as glass panels, has shown incomparable advantages.

ETFE membrane provides an innovative solution for modern architecture. The roof and wall made of this kind of membrane material has light weight, only 1% of that of glass of the same size; it has good toughness, high tensile strength, is not easy to be torn, and its ductility is greater than 400%; it has strong weather resistance and chemical corrosion resistance, melting temperature up to 200 ℃ and no spontaneous combustion. As the building material of large-scale competition venues, ETFE membrane has the greater advantage that it can be processed into any size and shape to meet the needs of large span and save the intermediate support structure; as a kind of material used after inflation, it can adjust the shading and transmittance by controlling the amount of inflation, so as to effectively use natural light and save energy. At the same time, it has the function of heat preservation and heat insulation. Moreover, this kind of film also has the function of self-cleaning, so that the dust is not easy to adhere to its surface, and the cleaning cycle is about 5 years. Another advantage of this material is that it can be prefabricated into film bubbles on site, which is convenient for construction and maintenance. In addition, the cost of covering layer and structure is only half of that of glass, and the service life is as long as 25 years.

ETFE rotary processing products have a good market prospect. In the field of chemical anti-corrosion, the general carbon steel and stainless steel equipment, pipe fittings, pumps and valves are difficult to resist the corrosion of various strong corrosive media. Although polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) has good chemical resistance, almost any strong acid, strong base, strong oxidant and solvent have no effect on it at high temperature. But the disadvantage of PTFE is that it is difficult to process and shape, and it can't combine well with metal equipment itself, which makes the physical properties of PTFE such as low mechanical strength and large coefficient of linear expansion emerge, which makes the excellent chemical properties unable to play its role. ETFE rotary lining product F40 just makes up for its shortcomings. At present, it has been adopted by many large enterprises in reactor, vessel, pipeline, valve, pump and so on. Once it is recognized by the market, it will have broad prospects. In terms of rotary molding, its various small storage tanks, high-purity pharmaceutical bottles, electrolytic cells with high requirements, battery shells and other products will surely have a broad market.
